This course, offered by our accredited school partners, consists of the following modules: Veterinary Assistant The Veterinary Assistant course prepares students for a new career in the field of veterinary medicine. Students will learn about the care of animals as well as how to recognize signs of illness and disease. This course also covers interpersonal communication, interaction with clients and their animals, as well as how to assist the veterinarian during examinations. Communications is the cement that holds workplaces together and ensures that organizations are productive, profitable, and successful. People tend to think of communications as only the words they say or write, but it is so much more than that. Communications includes the environment it is used in, how words are said, non-verbal and cultural aspects, and how the communicator’s personality affects their style. Upon successful completion of our Veterinary Assistant program, students will be prepared to sit for the NCCB national certification exam to become a Certified Animal Care Worker (CACW). NOTE: This program DOES NOT License, Certify, or Register Veterinary Technicians in any state through the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. ** Certification exams are not included in the cost of the course.** Each state may have additional licensing requirements, be sure to research your states requirements for employment by visiting your states occupation board.
